There are several types of bonds that counties use.  The type of bond that requires a bail bondsman is called a surety bond.  That is where you pay a bondsman 10% of the bond amount.  That 10% is called the premium and it is non-refundable.  In a sense, it is a bondsman’s commission.  A bail bond is security given for the release of a criminal defendant from legal custody (usually in the form of a power of attorney or bond power) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time set by the Court.

Whether it is the person in jail, a friend or family member, ultimately, somebody has to call the bail bondsman. The bail bondsman will ask a few simple questions over the phone in order to obtain as much information as possible regarding the person that is detained such as: name, date of birth, the charge(s), where the person is currently being detained,  employment information, where and how long the person arrested has lived at his residence, and name, address, and employment information on who will be the co-signer on the bail bond.

Fugitive Recovery

What happens if the person that was bonded out misses court?
If anybody knows that the person who was bonded out is purposefully going to miss court or leave the state of Indiana, call Ace Bail Bonds LLC immediately! Ace Bail Bonds LLC will receive a notice stating the defendant failed to appear. At that point, Ace Bail Bonds LLC will be calling the co-signor asking where the defendant is. The co-signor has two choices. They can either help find the person that was bonded out or submit immediate and full payment of the bond. Either way, Ace Bail Bonds LLC is responsible for finding and arresting the defendant. Unfortunately, the co-signor will be billed for any recovery and expenses incurred for finding and arresting the defendant who missed court.

You will need:

Cash or major credit card (10% of the bail bond amount).
Must have a person who will co-sign on the bail bond. See co-signor qualifications here.
Larger bonds may require collateral and/or multiple co-signors with full time jobs. $5 for a jail bonding fee. All jails in Indiana require this $5 bonding fee. It goes toward a death benefit fee. This fee is totally separate from Ace Bail Bonds LLC.
