Some jails offer different ways to post a bond. Surety bonds (the use of a bond company) and 10% cash bonds (payable to the jail) are two of the most popular types of bonds allowed.
Some jails will tell you that you can only use a 10% cash bond. In some cases, this is simply not true! Jails like Kosciusko and Whitley County will allow you to use either type of bond.

Example:
$5,000 surety bond or cash bond = Pay $400 to Ace Bail Bonds or $500 to the jail. You save $100 going through Ace Bail Bonds. The good news is that you will save even more the if the bond amount is higher.
NOTE: Depending on the stability of the defendant and/or cosigner (or the lack of stability), you may be required to pay the full 10% premium.

PAPERWORK AND PAYMENT
In Indiana, surety bail bonds is a form of insurance. We have to secure the surety bail bond by taking a cosigner. We cannot complete or write a surety bail bond without a cosigner.
The cosigner will sign a contract with Ace Bail Bonds stating they will be responsible to make sure the defendant(s) appears to their court proceedings and successfully resolve their case(s). If the defendant(s) misses court or if recovery agents have to re-arrest the defendant, the cosigner agrees to pay the recovery fee's which is an additional 10% of the surety bail bond amount. If the defendant cannot be located, the cosigner will be responsible for the full face value of the surety bail bond.
With a 10% cash bond, the person bonding an inmate out is taking responsibility for the defendant(s) and making sure that they appear in court. If the person they are bonding out does not show up, the person will forfeit the money they have already paid and will have to pay the full value of the cash bond amount.
The paperwork with Ace Bail Bonds is simple and usually takes about 15 minutes. The cosigner for Ace Bail Bonds needs to be over 18, a US Citizen, gainfully employed or have consistent significant income, and not going through the court process. This means the cosigner has to be at their job for at least 6 months, make at least $2000 per month, and prove employment with a pay stub.
